The Blue Note Tone Poet Series was born out of Blue Note President Don Was’ admiration for the exceptional audiophile Blue Note LP reissues presented by Music Matters. Was brought Joe Harley (from Music Matters), a.k.a. the “Tone Poet,” on board to curate and supervise a series of reissues from the Blue Note family of labels.
Round Trip – The Complete Ornette Coleman presents all six albums on Blue Note featuring Coleman. Five albums feature him as a leader — At The `Golden Circle’ Stockholm Vols. 1 & 2 (1965), The Empty Foxhole (1966), New York Is Now! (1968), and Love Call (1968) — as well as Coleman playing sideman on Jackie McLean’s New & Old Gospel (1967).
Included is a booklet featuring rare photos and an essay by critic Thomas Conrad. Blue Note Tone Poet Series features all-analog, remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
